NSWOC is not a typical training within the USNSCC. NSWOC is highly structured and specialized, requiring attendees to pass a very difficult PST (identical to the NSW PST), pass an intensive medical screening, and go through a rigorous board selection process. NSWOC has limited availability and is very competitive, so prepare and bring your A-game to stand out among your fellow Applicants!
Application Process
The approval process and status will progress as follows:
Submitted -> Confirmed -> Approved
Submitted -> Confirmed -> Approved
- Submitted = Applicant has submitted a request to take part in the training. This is the initial step in the process where the Training Group staff has confirmed that the applicant can proceed to the next step which is Confirmed.
- Confirmed = During this status the cadet will complete medical tests and submit further information as instructed on the nswoc.org website. This group of documents is referred to as the "package". Once the package has been completed, reviewed and approved a communication will be sent alerting the applicant to pay the training fee.
- Approved = All documents are completed and the training fees have been paid. Some long running medical tests may still be pending(with prior approval only) due to scheduling and other complications. Sea Bag item purchase and travel arrangements should be progressing at this status.
